multiple gamers in one house - boosting internet speed

With three teenage boys and an overgrown teenager for a spouse, I have a serious need for insanely fast Internet in our home. At a minimum, we have four gaming consoles running any time they are all home. Four online gamers sucks up the Internet like you would never believe. I have upgraded all of the routers and modems in the house to the highest speed possible, but the provider wasn't providing us with a fast enough connection to keep up with everything. I found out about a few more things you can do to improve the speed of your connection for situation such as mine. Find out what here on my blog.

Why You Should Add A Landline Phone To Your Home

Do you have the option to bundle a phone line with your home Internet service but feel that you don't really need it? If so, consider the following reasons that explain why it's worth owning a landline these days.

Convenience

You can't really beat the convenience of having an actual phone line in your home. For starters, it is simply nicer talking on a regular headset, rather than holding a bar-shaped smartphone to your head that gets hot over the course of a phone call. It also is nice to just pick up a phone and dial a number when the phone is in a convenient location.

Reliable Service

The nice thing about using a landline is that the service is going to be reliable. Once you are connected, there will be no worries about the call dropping out due to signal fade or walking to a spot in your home that causes the call to disconnect due to a lack of signal. If you are working from home and you need to have reliable phone calls where the other person is not going to be accidentally hung up on, a landline is a must-have to do business.

Clear Call Quality

You can't beat the call quality of having a clear phone call over a landline phone. This may be a key solution for you if you are struggling to hear the other person that you are on a phone call with. As advanced as smartphones are these days, you are still going to notice a decrease in call quality when using the device as an actual phone.

Emergency Phone Calls

Many people like knowing that there is a phone in their home that can be used for an emergency, especially if there are children in the home. They just have to pick up the phone and dial 911 if there is an actual emergency, and they don't have to bother tracking down someone's cell phone or knowing how to use it. In addition, you will also get enhanced 911 service when you use a landline for that type of emergency call. This can give the dispatcher information such as where you are located, which can help a child that may not know their exact street address.

Convinced that you can benefit from having a home phone in your home? Be sure to add it to your Internet package when signing up.
